6.

I'm finally starting to finish up my packing.
The thing is, I'm not really sure how it's all going to fit into my Escape, but that's besides the point.
I'm actually proud of the fact that I'm almost completely done.
Two more loads of laundry, and some garbage bags, and I'll be ready to go.

This is insane to me.
Tomorrow is my last day of work.
I never in a billion years thought those words would upset me as much as they have.

I keep driving around after work, just around my town, and soaking it all in. I can't believe how fast twenty years have gone. I can't fathom this. Maybe that's why I'm not a nervous wreck like I should be. I'm really okay.

Until I have to say goodbye to my best friend, and my family. Then things will change. But for now, really, I'm alright.

How are you guys doing?
Labor day weekend starts tomorrow!
The last hoorah of this crazy summer.
I hope you all have a lovely week.

Until tomorrow,
-K.

Fall nailpolish haul!

We've discussed this little problem of mine before. I love nail polish. I can't help it.
There are worse addictions out there...

ANYWAY,
Fall is right around the corner and fall fashions are emerging in every store.
I found myself caving for some old favorites, as well as new little gems while makeup shopping this week.
Classics like Essies: Topless and barefoot, and LadyLike slipped in my cart..along with OPIs Lincoln Park after Dark, and China Glaze Ravishing Dahling.

What is your go to polish for fall?
Are you a neutral, bold, or dark kinda girl?
Let me know!

And if you'd like an indepth review on any of these shades, leave a comment.
Until next time lovelies,
-K.

I honestly can't believe that I only have one week left in New York. It's crazy to me. Absolutely insane.
I though for sure I'd be a mess by now. Crying and sobbing to anyone and everyone that would listen. But I'm not. I'm so excited, that I don't think it's hit me yet that a week from right now ill be 700 miles away chasing my dreams south of the mason Dixon.
So what do I do a week from my moving day? Pack? Clean? Nope. I shop.
I find peace in target. And if you don't you're a liar. I decided to purchase my necessities, makeup wise, today.

If you'd like an in depth review on any of these products in the future, let me know! I fell, of course, for some fall inspired nail polishes. Old favorites like babylips and sunny bronzes just happened to jump into my wagon.

The next three days for me will be kind of strange. I'm working crazy hours, and then Saturday is my last day at my second home. Crazy.

If you're like me, and getting ready to leave, take a second, or an hour, to drive around your little town. Remember where you went mini golfing for the first time, and pass your highschool. Soak it in.

Until tomorrow,
K.

I've never been surprised before. I'm always the first one to know whats going on, and if i'm not I figure it out pretty quickly. Tonight, you guys really got me. Danielle and Adam, my best friend's sister and brother in law, have became two of my best friends over the last few years. Whether it was fishing in Patchogue, or going to see my first real baseball game, I end up laughing until I cry every time I'm with them.

Tonight, after what was told to be "going out to dinner", turned out to be a little barbecue surprise "going away" party for me. I've never felt so nervous and excited within 30 seconds.

I'm blessed to have people who genuinely support me. I'm the luckiest girl in the world.

Thank you again, Danielle and Adam ( the two best friends) for tonight. I really had so much fun. I'm going to miss you guys so much, but you and I both know the four best friends will always be united.

Love you guys.
Until tomorrow,
-K.

9.

I guess that's the thing about moving. There's so much excitement in the air and the moments pass so quickly, that when you get a second to take a breath you realize how in love you are with your tiny little goodbye town.
Last night I spent time with my second family, and it literally scared me that I won't get to see them again until Christmas. Thankfully, our world is full of social media and vast methods of communication.
I can't believe I only have nine days left on this island.
Until tomorrow,
K.

The countdown begins. 10.

Ten days from now, I'll be 700 miles away from the home I've lived in for the past twenty years.

I don't know whether to laugh, smile, cry, or scream. I've never felt so excited yet so nervous in my life. I know everything is going to be fine, only because it has to be.
Because I need it to be.

Five days from now will be my last day at the job I've had for over two years. A silly little part time job which turned into my first ever manager position, and left me with a second family, a home away from home if you will.
Maybe I'm not completely freaking out because I'm not fully packed yet, because in my mind I still have ten days. It took me this long to realize how fast ten days actually passes.

I've decided that for the next ten days, I'm going to journal on this blog as if it were my diary. I'm going to document it on here so that maybe in ten years, ill look back and remember how empty and how full I felt at this very moment.

If you're beginning a new journey, you're not alone.
You're allowed to laugh, smile, scream, and cry.
You're allowed to feel homesick, and free.
It's okay. Because it has to be.

I'll see you tomorrow, lovelies.
And if your journey begins then, I wish you nothing but the best.
Until then,
K.

Makeup of the day: August 16th, 2013

Makeup of the Day: August 2013

On the 16th of August, two of my very important people in my life made a promise to each other, sealed with a kiss, to be forever in love. It was a beautiful, warm summer day full of joy and excitement, and I wish you, Danielle and Adam nothing but the best.

--I wanted to keep my look for the day simple, and easy to maintain. For this, I knew I needed one of the best shadow palettes I've ever used. It's by a company called Coastal Scents, which used to be a cult favorite by Youtube gurus.
--It's a very basic smokey eye using only 3 different shadows. For a base, I used a matte cream/skin colored shadow. In the mid to upper crease, I blended together a matte chestnut brown with a charcoal brown. By doing this, you can create an ombre effect that smokes out from dark to light when approaching the inner corner. For my highlights ( inner corner and brow) I used the same matte cream color as the base.

--A thick line of black liquid liner, a strip of falsies, and some very black mascara finished the eye look. I wanted to keep the lip very simple as well, and just used a bit of Hue by Mac in the center of the lip, and blended it out with an Urban Decay pocket rocket lip gloss in the shade "Kirk."

This look is good for formal occasions, such a weddings and prom, but is also simple enough to wear day to day! What I would do if I were to wear this look daily is stick to just mascara and no falsies.

What do you guys think?
What is your "go-to" makeup look for formal occasions?
Let me know!
Until then,
-K.
