Polished.

Nail Polish Haul : Urban Outfitters
From left to right:
Bright lights: Sheer gray toned polish with round multicolored large glitter
Tiny Shirt: A neon bubblegum pink
Scorcher: A clear polish with large multicolored glitter and fine silver glitter
Sunshine: Bright, sunny yellow

The best part about buying these? Since it's the end of the season, it's out with the old and in with the new for most stores...so I purchased all four of these polishes for $1. They're normally $5 each.
Winning.

Have a good week everyone!
Until then,
-K.

Plus Size Fashion Dupe: Plus Size Pixie?

                                      Plus Size Fashion Dupe #1
I always hear about how amazing the JCrew Pixie pants are online. From vloggers to bloggers and everyone in between, I constantly see these plain black skinny pants everywhere! They seem to fit everyone perfectly. They kind of remind me of the jeans from "the sisterhood of the traveling pants." The thing is JCrew's pants only go up to a size 12.

This world is full of beautiful, full figured women who would ROCK pixie pants if they came in ACTUAL plus sizes. I found something for us, plus sized girls, that are basically a dupe for the Pixie pant.

They are rightfully called the " Little Black Skinny Pant", and are for sale at Torrid for around $45. I know, for pants, that may seem like a lot of money. From a fashion point of view, I believe every woman should have a staple little black dress, neutral blazer, and a perfectly fitting pair of black pants. They are SO versatile. Now, from my point of view, I spend that on 2 pairs of leggings that rip in the thighs after 5 or 6 wears. Why not invest in a quality item that will last, and never go out of style?

Just so you all know, I'm about 5'6-5'7, and they hit me right at the ankle. I like that style of pants, because they're a bit cropped and won't get ruined by touching the ground. I think they tend to make my legs look a bit longer too, (since I was blessed with the tree stump legs from my Italian roots). Grazie.

Here's the link for the pants if you want to check them out.

**Also, if you're not a curvy girl, the pixie pants are an awesome addition to any wardrobe. I wasn't trying to diss the pants at all, but offer an option from my point of view!

Everyday Summer Eyes

My Easy Everyday Summer Eyes

I'm the first one to say it, I hate getting ready in the summer. I want to be done quick, and not look cakey...especially on my eyes. This look is simple and quick, and looks really gorgeous on any skin tone!
( The picture stinks, I know, it was taken on my Iphone!)

Shadow Steps:
1. Use a little bit of primer or concealer to help prepare your lid for the shadow, as well as evening out your skin tone, and helping the shadows stay on all day.
( Physicians Formula RX  concealer in light)
2. Apply a matte light beige all over from lash up through the brow bone to leave a clean palette.
(Urban Decay - Foxy)
3. Swipe a shimmery taupe all over the lid.
( Urban Decay -Suspect)
4. Use a shimmery bronze in the crease, and blend the beige and bronze lightly.
(Urban Decay - Half Baked)
5. To tie it all together, use a white/cream shadow to highlight under the brow, and in the inner corner.
( Urban Decay - Booty Call)

My eyeliner is flicked out a bit at the end, but doesn't reach my inner corner. This helps keep the eyes looking awake, and prevents smudging. I set my liner with Urban Decays Blackout shadow, and mixed a bit of the Falsies and The Rocket mascaras by Maybelline to finish off the look.

And that's it! All the colors I mentioned come in the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette. This palette is literally my baby, I use it every single day, and bring it everywhere. It's the perfect combination of matte and shimmer based  neutral shadows.

What makeup do you wear in the summer?
Any at all?
Let me know!
Until then,
-K.

ITunes Loving: Summer Jams

ITunes Loving : Summer Playlist 2013

Added some more music to my car playlist these past few weeks. ( I literally cannot stop.)
The thing is, most of these songs are not new. They aren't current, and maybe they're from way back. Take this as you may, but who cares if a song is from 10 minutes ago, or ten years ago? If you can jam to it, why not love it?

Here's what's (kinda) new :

Everything is Alright - Motion City Soundtrack

That's So You - The Rocket Summer

Overrated - Less Than Jake

Grand Theft Autumn - Fall Out Boy

Beauty In the Breakdown - The Scene Aesthetic

Red Dirt Road- Brooks and Dunn

Joey - Sugarland

Always the Love Songs - Eli Young Band

Johnny and June - Heidi Newfield

I'm Only Me When I'm With You - Taylor Swift

Friends In Low Places - Garth Brooks

Til My Last Day - Justin Moore

Your Song- Ellie Golding

Come On Get Higher - Sugarland

Airliner - Julia Sheer

Knock Knock - Mac Miller

What is your go to summer car song?
Let me know!
Until then,

Mentoring?

I have always loved beauty and fashion, as you can tell from my crazy rants on this page. I've recently been offered the opportunity to give B&F advice to girls and women through an amazing site called Get Smart Mentoring.

There are four main writers, including me, who each have their own column in which we discuss issues pertaining to everything from beauty, to fitness, and everything in between.

http://getsmartmentoring.com/for-teens/heres-kristen-fashion-beauty-for-real-young-women/

I'm inviting you all to check it out, and let me know what YOU want to see!
We're here to give advice to you, so if you have questions, or would like to read about something specifically, comment on the page and let us know!

I will still be writing on here as my personal blog, but should be writing for Get Smart at least once a week.
I'm so excited to see what the future holds!
Until then,
-K.

Wine Time.

Strawberry Lemon Sangria

Ingredients:
Moscato white wine
Strawberries cut up and soaked in a little bit of honey and regular sugar
a squeeze of lemon juice - fresh preferably

This is literally the  most simple recipe for a taste of summer. It is refreshing, and not too sweet!
I know this isn't my typical post, but it was so good I couldn't resist.

Let me know if you try this!
Until then,

Green With Envy.

                                        Sneak Peak of My Outfit

So excited about these new pieces I've added into my wardrobe and jewelry collection.

The green pants are from Roamans. They cost under $40, and come in a ton of colors! To be honest, I was expecting the quality to be less than what it actually was. I'm planning on purchasing more of these " Stretch Straight Leg Leggings" this week, because I am so in love. I've wanted green pants for such a long time for some odd reason, but I finally found them! I ordered them in a tall, even though I'm 5'6, because I prefer my skinnies to be bunched a bit at the ankle.

The watch I've had for a while, but the chain bracelet is a new member of my ever growing jewelry collection. I've been looking for a sturdy, gold chain link bracelet for a while now, and any time I find an affordable one, they feel and look like plastic. This bracelet is from Torrid and was under $20! Its definitely metal, and looks good on its own, or paired with some arm candy.

Have you made any purchases lately?
Let me know!
Until then,
-K.

Kiss the girl.

My Top 3 Favorite Lip Care Products
Under $6!

I'm a lip product junkie if you couldn't tell. I will forever swear by these three products as my all time favorite lip care items. As simple as they may be, they are a staple in every purse, makeup bag, clutch, and even vanity I've ever had.

1. Nivea A Kiss of Milk and Honey lip conditioner-
This "chap-stick-esc" product is one of the most moisturizing products I've ever used and I am in love with it. It will never leave my purse. The ingredients are what make it so amazing, which include beeswax and honey. You can purchase these at any type of drugstore for under $3

2. C.O Bigelow Rose Salve-
Known as a youtube cult favorite, this "all-purpose" salve always comes in handy. Not only is made to hydrate your lips, but your skin as well! I've used this on dry spots, and even my cuticles to add a little bit of needed moisture. The one I always seem to purchase is the .8oz, and I've seen them for sale in stores like Bath and Body Works, Sephora, and Ulta for about $5.

3. Nivea Lip Butter in Caramel Cream Kiss
This is a new addition to my favorites. These little pots of love were available in the UK before they hit the US and I would read blogs about them from youtubers and DIE waiting for them to come to the states. They are a potted lip balm like the rose salve, yet just as thick and creamy as the other nivea lip conditioner. These are now available at just about any drugstore, for around $4.

What are your all time lip favorites?
Let me know!
Until then,
-K.
